Hugs From Home

FieldView Solutions participated in “Hugs From Home”, a program sponsored by our furniture supplier, Office Furniture Partnership, which sends both fun and practical items to US troops all over the world. The FieldView team had a great time filling the plastic tubes OFP provided with unique treats to send to American military men and women. We are proud of our team’s efforts which helped us exceed our donation goal by over 50%.

Expanding Executive Team

Last month, FieldView Solutions added three industry veterans to its team, with the addition of Tim Bartell as Sales Account Executive, Nunzio Greco as Senior Project Engineer and Luis Davila as new Solutions Architect.

Introducing Tim Bartell - Tim Bartell comes to FieldView with over 25 years of sales experience. In his new Account Executive role, he will be working with John Consoli and our sales team to identify new opportunities and more effectively move those opportunities through negotiations and on to closing.  Most recently Tim was a general manager with RIT Technologies, where he had overall responsibility for sales, customer support, logistics, operations and administration. Prior to his position with RIT, he worked with Cablofil, Inc., where he was responsible for communication as well as electrical and industrial sales in the New England, NY Metro and upstate NY regions. Tim has also held positions with The Mercury Group, Optical Cable Corporation, and Panduit Sales, Inc.

Introducing Nunzio Greco - Nunzio Greco has more than 15 years of experience in project management, engineering and customer support leadership. As FieldView Solutions’ new senior project engineer, Mr. Greco is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, integrating, and completing projects on time and on-budget. He will work with the engineering, development, sales and support teams as well as provide customer training and post-sales support. Previously, Nunzio served as the operations manager of SunGard Availability Services, where he implemented disaster recovery best-practices and provided customer support for nearly 10,000 customers.

Introducing Luis Davila - Luis Davila has been an engineer and power specialist since 1979, and will bring his depth of experience to FieldView as its new solutions architect. He began his career with the Atlantic Electric Company as a power quality analyst and energy efficiency project manager. He also spent more than a decade as a lead sales engineer with DVL, Inc., a multi-million dollar provider of high-end UPS and HVAC systems for data centers. As a solutions architect for FieldView, Luis will use his experience and knowledge in energy-efficiency and data center infrastructure management to add new functionalities to FieldView’s offerings, and to develop professional relationships with prospects and customers that increase interest in FieldView products and services.

Here We Grow Again

New Space

In less than one year, FieldView Solutions outgrew our work space. To quickly resolve this problem, we took over the offices next door, doubling our original square footage, which will enable us to accommodate our new support staff.

Data Center Efficiency – the FV Value
David Hauck, CTO, FieldView Solutions

We’re excited about the upcoming enhancements to FieldView and I would like to share a sneak peek into some of the product’s robust features:

  • The Metrics Viewer (MV) –The MV is a new analytics and reporting portal allowing multiple, real-time metrics to be easily monitored.  Users will now have specialized controls for generating comparative analysis within FieldView. This new feature will enable users to view comparative trends, alarms, metrics, and readings across multiple locations and devices, so variances may be quickly identified. Additionally, a new series of Business Intelligence (BI) reports and charts will be available. The BI reports will use industry standards and thresholds, regulatory guidelines, comparative metrics and analysis, and operator best practices to help users identify key areas for more informed decision making.
  • Page Navigation -- Monitoring, problem resolution as well as finding proactive planning and forecasting data, now requires fewer clicks. FieldView’s page navigation has been simplified so users can easily analyze greater volumes of complex data more rapidly.
  • Critical Polling Agent (CPA) – The new CPA feature allows clients to configure selected devices for high priority, high-performance polling.  Once tagged, these critical devices are polled through an independently running and separately spawned process - to better ensure availability.
  • Enhanced Communications between the Infrastructure and Supporting Computing Equipment– The FieldView database now contains the necessary web pages and reporting tools necessary to purposefully manage mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment for any mission-critical environment.
  • Zone Concept (ZC) – This new feature enables users to subdivide the data into user groups, separate locations, applications or system privileges.
  • Site Metrics Ribbon (SMR) –FieldView’s world, country, state, location and floor pages have been enhanced with the new SMR feature, to enable at-a-glance viewing of detailed information related to individual site levels. This feature is now available on all premise hierarchy pages.
  • Enhanced Operational Reporting - This new feature allows users to now set parameters for generating and viewing operational reports.  Date ranges, groups of devices, or zone values may be selected to provide more focused reporting.
  • Enterprise Integration Layer (EIL) – The EIL is an open database and API polling option.  Using the ODBC standard and through the use of published API’s, FieldView now polls devices with values stored in third-party or other independent databases.  Additionally, the new EIL features allow large and complex device configuration data files to be easily loaded -- increasing quality of implementation and maintenance efforts.
  • Expanded Microsoft Windows Support – FieldView now supports Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008, in addition to its continued support for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
  • Redesigned User Interface (UI) - FieldView has simplified its UI by reorganizing information tabs to reflect the way users logically view the data. The redesigned UI will help streamline operator efficiency while offering more intuitive viewing options.
